Creating Community Since 1971

Hyack Festival Association enriches the community of New Westminster and beyond through world-class festivals and cooperative events in which the community can participate and take pride.

What We Do

Celebrate the fusion of cultures and personalities that create the City of New Westminster

Promote New Westminster

Our signature parade float visits local parades throughout the region, spreading awareness for the City of New Westminster and promoting our community events.

Multicultural Parade

The annual Hyack Parade is our province's largest family-oriented parade with entries from throughout BC and the surrounding region. You won't want to miss the high-energy, colourful procession of floats, marching bands, community groups, mascots, performance artists and more that fill the streets of Uptown New Westminster.

Festival in the Park

After the parade, enjoy the Festival in the Park! Each year we showcase a different mix of multicultural talents from around the region on a live entertainment stage, host a variety of artisan vendors and local exhibitors, and bring together the citizens of New Westminster to celebrate our diverse cultures.

Fireworks Festival

Every year we send off summer in style. Join us at the New Westminster Quay for a spectacular day filled with live entertainment, artisan market vendors and exhibitors, fantastic food, and a Fireworks Extraordinaire!

Formed in 1971 by Mayor Muni Evers, the Hyack Festival Association works to achieve the common goal that he bestowed upon us to produce uplifting events to enhance and enliven the quality of life for both the citizens of New Westminster and visitors to BC.

We aim to inspire, unite, and excite our community by celebrating our history and future through community partnerships, youth involvement, and world-class community events.
