Jadyn is the daughter of Angie Gibson, and loves her three cats, Milo, Molly, and Dexter. Jadyn is in grade 11 at New Westminster Secondary School, and is an active, involved and athletic student. She has played soccer since a young age, and has tried many other sports including volleyball and cheerleading. Currently, she is interested in pursuing a studies in psychiatry or another field related to mental health. Jadyn is a good listener, and is fascinated by the brain and would like to study it further.

Jadyn is most inspired by her mother, who continuously shows her that even when life may be rough, to always keep pushing forward with a smile on your face. "She is the strongest woman I know." Jadyn would like to thank her mother for supporting her every step of the way and always being there for her no matter what. She would not be the same person she is today without her.

Jadyn's most treasured keepsake is a ruby ring her grandmother left her when she passed. "My nana was obsessed with jewelry which is definitely something that was passed down to me. Now even though I will never wear it out in fear of losing it, it’s
something that I will forever cherish in memory of my nana."

Her proudest moment of her life so far was being voted by her peers
to represent Richard McBride at May Day 2017. Jadyn adored being able to participate and be a part of the 2017 May Day suite and will cherish those memories forever.

Other than Hyack Festival Week, Jadyn's favourite thing about New Westminster is the variety of offerings brought by the city such as the farmers market, parades, food truck festivals and many more events. "It has become a very fun city to live in and I am proud to call New Westminster my home."

If Jadyn could trade places with anyone, past or present, she would trade places with Oprah Winfrey, who overcame so much adversity in her young life and became one of the most influential and powerful women ever. "I looks up to her immensely."

Jadyn believes being a good ambassador requires integrity, strong communication and reliability. She looks forward to demonstrating these qualities as an ambassador for her city.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”

- Mother Teresa

It is so important to spread
kindness to everyone you encounter. I cannot count the number of times my bad day completely changed because of a
compliment or even just a smile. You never know what someone else is going through.
